29th March 2011: Launch of Green Cross Code Man Costume

Superhero, the Green Cross Code Man was created in 1975 as part of a government campaign to teach young children to cross the road safely. Portrayed by British actor David Prowse MBE, also famed for his role in the Star Wars movies as Darth Vader and a former Mr. Universe, David Prowse played the character in a well-known series of Public Information Films. The character featured in commercials until 1990 and is fondly remembered by those growing up in the 70s and 80s.
